Combining Sara Giannini’s Maquillage as Meditation: Carmelo Bene and the Undead, Rhea Anastas’s Adrian Piper: Performing Objects I Have Been, 1972–2018, and Erin Alexa Freedman and Lili Huston-Herterich’s Chroma Lives this Pack addresses practices of re-enactment and re/staging, as well as their relation to scripts, documentation, archives, performative language and notation systems. It engages with how writing performs and how performativity can be written. Alongside these Performance-in-Residence publications sits the printed score of Learning to Imitate by Yael Davids, a performance staged across various locations, now transcribed to be restaged through the imagination of its readers.
